About Coach J
Coach J began his coaching career in 1992. He has been coaching at the high school level since 1999 in California (San Rafael HS, Head XC and TF), Oregon (Scio HS, Head XC and TF), Utah (Summit Academy HS, Head TF) and back in California (Sage Creek HS, Head XC). Coach J is a USA TF Level II Certified Coach in Endurance and Sprints/Hurdles. He ran for Southern Oregon University where he was a 2xAcademic All-American and has completed 28 marathons.

About Coach Leigh Ann
A New Yorker turned San Diegan, Leigh Ann moved to SoCal on November 2021 and immediately immersed herself into the local running community, which includes this assistant coaching role at Sage Creek! This will be her third season.
Leigh Ann's been running for 15+ years. She graduated from Bucknell University in 2016, where she competed at the D1 level in cross country, and indoor & outdoor track and field for 4 years. She continues to run post-collegiately for San Diego Track Club. Leigh Ann enjoys all of the pursuits that San Diego has to offer (cycling, hiking, going to the beach) and she works as a Project Manager for Scripps Health.
About Coach Kiaya
Coach Kiaya enters her second year coaching this season, and is so excited to see the team grow. She graduated from Sage Creek 2022, and is currently studying psychology at Mira Costa. Kiaya has been running competitively since elementary school, and ran for the varsity track and XC team all four years of high school. She has a team cross country state championship under her belt, as well the team placing third in state her senior year. Her mother was the Aviara Oaks middle school cross country coach, and currently her brother is a senior at Sage Creek .
